The Grand Theater, considered by many as the crown jewel of the Upper Perkiomen Valley, is currently accepting applications for several part time positions for box office and concession stand worker. All applicants must be at least 15 years of age and must be able to work a rotating schedule for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Applications may be obtained at the theater during regular business hours only. Please, no emails or calls.

The personal appearance of our staff is a very important part of our overall image. To our guests, the employees are an integral part of an historic movie theater. To maintain a family atmosphere at The Grand, the management maintains a set of grooming guidelines. Below you will find a short outline of those guidelines.

Management reserves the right to determine what items of appearance are acceptable or excessive. Medical exceptions must be documented and approved.

Grooming Standards for females:
  • Hair - Hair must be natural, clean, well-groomed and simply arranged. Faddish, extreme hairstyles, including (but not limited to) multi-color or unnatural colors, sculptured hair, tails, partially shaved heads and dreadlocks are not permitted. Those who prefer long hair should take special care so that it will not fall forward or over the face while performing normal job duties, creating a safety hazard. Shaved patterns in the sides, back or front of the hair are not permitted.

  • Make-Up - Employees should emphasize the natural look. Nails should be no greater than 1/4" in length, and if polished, only with one solid color and no additional adornment. Either clear or natural colored nail polishes as well as any polishes which are complimentary to an employee's skin color are permitted. In addition, conservative shades of red and pink are also acceptable. Employees should also be discreet in the use of cosmetics and perfume.

  • Tattoos - Tattoos are not permitted to be visible to our guests.

  • Jewelry - Conservative personal jewelry such as a watch, one or two rings per hand and no more than two earrings in each lower earlobe is acceptable. Heavy and/or beaded necklaces, dangling bracelets, fabric/fiber jewelry, as well as any body piercing (with the exception of two earrings per lower earlobe) are not in keeping with the Grand’s image and are therefore not permitted.

    Grooming Standards for males:
  • Hair - A fresh, neat haircut is a must at the Grand. Hair must be natural, neatly trimmed and clean at all times. Styling should be tapered at the sides and back so the lower one-half of the ear is visible and the back is no longer than the top of the collar of a normal dress shirt. Hair should also not fall forward over the face while performing normal job duties. Faddish, extreme hair styles, including (but not limited to) multi-color or unnatural hair colors, sculptured hair, tails, ponytails, dreadlocks, partially shaved heads and spikes are not permitted. Shaved patterns in the sides, back or front of the hair are not allowed. Sideburns may not extend below the earlobe or widen out.

  • Facial Hair - Employees should be clean shaven daily. Beards and goatees are permitted as long as they are kept trimmed and well groomed. A neatly-groomed mustache that does not extend below or beyond the corners of the mouth or below the upper lip is permitted.

  • Tattoos - Tattoos are not permitted to be visible to our guests.

  • Jewelry - Conservative personal jewelry such as a watch and/or one ring per hand are acceptable. However, heavy, large beaded, or long, dangling necklaces, fabric/fiber jewelry, as well as any body piercing, including an earring, are not in keeping with the Grand’s image and, therefore, are not permitted.
